Hello I am using PhotoShop Elements 2.0 on a Dell Dimension 8200. I have had the program for almost a year now. But the other day when I went to run the software I went to start a new file. The two color choice boxes were red and white. Then when I picked a new file the boxes changed to grey and white. I am unable to change the colors and make them stay. And when I run the box over the file window the mouse doesn’t show up. So I decided to reinstall the program. But the program still has the problem. Does anyone know what may be causing this and how I can stop it. Also I just added some new font to the computer, could that be a problem?

Thanks
Ted

Ted,
You need to run the Adobe Gamma utility to profile your display. I’d guess your image problems are caused by the system default profile being screwy. Elements is a color managed program and all images are "filtered" through the default monitor profile before they hit your screen, Ian Lyons Image Flow < http://www.btinternet.com/~ian.lyons/ps7-colour/ps7_color.gi f>

.. A good tutorial on the Adobe Gamma process is <http://www.computer-darkroom.com/ps7-colour/ps7_2.htm> . I think this will solve your problem.
You may also need to clear your Photoshop Prefs file, and start fresh there. Reset Photoshop Prefs ! <http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?50@@.ef4a07f>
