The only edge technique I know is done with: desaturate, make copy to new layer, invert, set to color dodge or linear dodge, Gaussian blur. This creates sort of a sketchy edge. But the type of edge I’m trying to understand is the edge I see in Smart Blur when I set it to Edge Only. Is there a layer technique with blending modes that can product that kind of edge? Or maybe some other manual way of doing this (other than using Smart Blur).
