I have a file I’m trying to work on but I can’t seem to open it with Elements. The details:

– the file is 53MB and is a black and white (not grayscale) scan of a very large drawing at 400 dpi.
– I’d like to be able to work on the drawing one pixel at a time to fix some flaws and then have it printed again.
– I get a parsing error each time I try to work on it in Elements. – My computer is an AMD 1330, 512MB RAM, 40GB HD.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

What was it created with?
What format is it saved as?
Could you open it in some other application?

What was the orginal size in inches of the drawing?

53MB isn’t a "large" file all in all, but if it is really "black and white", meaning bitmap, that IS large (grayscale is 1/3rd size of RGB, and bitmap is about 1/8th the size of grayscale).

What I’m getting at is, it could be exceeding the 30,000 pixel limit for one of the dimensions.
