Fonts problem

I was modifying a Premiere Elements template, I used some fonts in italics mode. When I closed the templates and then started a new document, all my fonts somehow became slanted, as if the italics became sticky. Even if I were to select arial regular, the type appears slanted, almost like arial italic, if I choose italics, they become even more slanted.

Could I have done something without being aware??? I am clueless!!!! Is there a war to revert to my original fonts.

type some text. right click on the text you just typed in the image and UNselect Faux Italic.
