Running actions in CS4

This is probably a stupid question, but I just can’t figure it out. I recently upgraded to CS4, and I can’t seem to create actions! The choice is there, but it’s grayed out… so I can’t do it. I’ve never had this problem before, so I am guessing something has changed in CS4 and I’m just not figuring out. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks so much.

Is the "New Action" menu item grayed out in the flyout menu of the ACTIONS panel? If not, did you click on it?

Or did you forget to start by creating a New Action and you’re referring to the Start Recording menu item being grayed out?

Hi Ramon! I could not choose "New action"… it’s grayed out. However, in fooling with it, I turned off "button mode" and it now works fine! Thanks!
