I have been using Photoshop Elements 6 for a few years now. Recently, I decided to upgrade to Photoshop CS (yes, the first one). However, I found out I needed a version of Photoshop, not Elements if I wanted to do this. So I purchases Photoshop 5.0 off ebay and have since filled out all the license transfer papers.
I also purchased, new in box, Adobe Photoshop CS upgrade. After some confusion installing Photoshop 5.0 (It seems I needed to install Mac Classic on my laptop here before I could install such an old program), I’ve finally got it installed. Now however, when I put in the CS disc to get that installed, I can’t install it. I open up the installation file off the disc, I enter my admin password, and then it says "Authenticating Installer, Please Wait…". It shows that text in a grey bar then ends there. The "Photoshop CS Installer" icon on the Dock also shuts down.
I spent the last day or so looking around the net and I haven’t found anyone else with this exact problem. I found similar problems and tried their remedies, I made sure my clock is set to the right time, I reset the computer a few times, and I’ve even tried clearing all my internet cookies and cache. No luck. I can’t install a program I just paid 300 dollars for and Adobe support won’t be back till monday and I need to get this program up and running ASAP. Can anyone help me?
I’m running Mac OS X Version 10.4.11 on an IBook G4. I grew up with PC’s and don’t know enough about Macs to figure this out. If you need any more info just ask. Thank you very much in advance!
