I searched the forums and knowledge base for information on this, but came up empty.
I have both Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom and will be installing them on my Windows XP computer. This PC currently has Photoshop CS2 installed and has all the current updates from MS. The system has enough hard drive space to allow CS2 to be retained until CS3 settles in. The beta releases of Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom were not installed on this system.
The question is about the installation order of the two programs. I understand that Photoshop may delete some, if not all of the choices in the "What do you want Windows to do" box that appears after a USB device is inserted. The current settings, as determined by TweakUI, have been recorded, so returning the original options should not be a problem. I also understand that Lightroom will start each time any new device is detected, and am aware of the fix for this.
Other than taking an image of the boot drive, does anyone have a recommendation on what actions should be performed before installation? Also does anyone know of a recommended installation order?
Thanks,
Holley
