Cursors acting erratic…. (CS2)

The cursors are acting quite erratic on photoshop. Whenever I hover over an image or try to move the cursor, it either disappears or jumps around wildly. Sometimes it locks to one place on the image… I’ve tried this with both my mouse and tablet… same deal each time. I have no clue what could cause this, and I have trashed prefs already to no avail.

I’ve tried this with both my mouse and tablet…

make sure that the tablet mouse and/or stylus are nowhere near the tablet when using one tool or the other.
