I’m new to Photoshop and looking to do what I think sounds simple but I’m having trouble accomplishing the task. I wish to pull an item out of a scanned image and be able to use it on the web or an advertisement without showing the background. Example: separate a single rose bud from a photo of an entire bush and background. I want to use the rose bud on a web page or ad placed on a background and show only the single bud. I’m having trouble doing this. When I remove the background I end up with a single bud in a box and the box shows up on the page. I want it to look as if I cut the picture out of the original with scissors. I’m pretty sure it has something to do with the layers function but I’m not getting it. I’ve been fighting this for a couple weeks now and trying to find the info and the Adobe website but not having any luck. Maybe I’m asking or searching the wrong way. Thanks so much for anyone that can explain this to me.
