You could:
* In Bridge: Select only the images you want to change
* Initiate the batch process from Bridge

Does this help?

Thanks….not quite..I tried already…following instructions from Photoshop 7 which was very confusing. It ignored my selections and went for all the pics in the file, but didn’t change anything anyway. I need to learn this process from scratch.

I have Photoshop CS2 but no manual

When you downloaded the upgrade, the Help Files will have come with it. If I remember correctly, there was a link to download the PDF version of the full manual too.

It ignored my selections and went for all the pics in the file

You need to initiate the Batch command from the Bridge tools menu

but didn’t change anything anyway

You will probably have to re write your action. PS7 actions will not neccessarily work in CS2
