Can i use ChannelPortsSuite and advanceState in the same pligin?

Hello all:

I have a try to use ChannelPortsSuite and advanceState in the same pligin, but there are some thing wrong.
For example, in the sample code "PoorMansTypeTool", When I added a line "gStuff->inRect = gStuff->filterRect;" in the function DoEffect(), the photoshop crashed.

I’m completely confused.
