I want to automate a workflow using raw files passed to a PS droplet. I have found, however, that whenever I send raw files to ACR and then open them in in PS , the embedded IPTC information is not retained and won’t be included in a new version of the file saved from PS.
I have .xmp sidecar files with the IPTC imported into them , but PS doesn’t seen to use that either.
If I save the raw files directly from ACR then the IPTC info is retained in the new version.
What do you have to do to get IPTC in raw files recognized when opened in PS ? I need the IPTC info in the files I want to droplet but they need to be processed in PS, and that requires opening them in PS.
I could do the intermediate step of creating files saved directly from ACR (so that IPTC is retained) and then sending the intermediate files to the droplet , but that seems like it shouldn’t be necessary.
Is this something that PS can’t do?
Thanks,
Joe.
