working path is the selected path in the Paths palette of Photoshop.

Photoshop Elements doesn’t have a Paths palette.

Is this statement true for PE 3, I am trying to complete Janee’s line drawing Tutorial on line drawings with PE 2 today…

Wanted to go beyond Tiny’s Lotus line drawing he posted in ABcomp-graphics, using Al-Dabbagh’s steps to convert raster images onto monochrome vector artwork. But it appears Elements 2 does not have the ability to create a working path to export to Illustrator.

No pen tool – miss it dearly
No quick mask – I have difficulty using workarounds
No Font enhancements –

Today I discovered it has no Path Palette –

Yeah, I found the lack of those tools to be a major PITA in Elements 2.

I just made a custom shape of Tiny’s car (on abcg NG) using Photoshop 7.

Let’s hope that Elements 4 includes paths, the pen tool and other vector utensils!

Peadge 🙂

Peadge,

I hope Adobe release it unbundled from album for windows. I believe it runs so much better in a MAC without that addition that Adobe integration dumped on the windows users.

Saw your post in ABcomp-graphics as follow-up
"Subject: just learned a new Photoshop trick", a great suggestion to accomplish this procedure of creating a line drawing without illustrator.

Your image of Tiny’s lotus is grand, and your tutorial is excellent…

It turned out a smooth vector line drawing from the colored Lotus car photo he first posted…

Again thanks
