I’m trying to burn a slide show with music that will play on a computer. All I seem to be able to do is do it as a wmv that plays as a dvd on a tv.
What am I doing wrong?

Suggest that you look at the following tutorial on the Adobe site

<http://www.adobe.com/tips/phsel3slideshow/main.html>

Choose File > Output As WMV to create a file for viewing with Windows Media Player. If you choose Output As WMV, the default profile is for High-Quality Output. Click the Change WMV Output Quality button if you want to change the output setting.

To play the Custom Slideshow on your PC, save the WMV file on your hard drive – instead of doing the burn to a CD as part of the slideshow process. Choosing WMV quality of 800×600 Proof will give you better video quality than the lower resolutions. Play it with Windows Media Player.

Then if you want to have that WMV file on a CD to give it to someone else, do the CD burn of the WMV file outside of Elements with either the XP CD burning support or your normal CD burning program.

Thank you! I finally figured that out at 1 A.M. last night. I had been struggling with that for a week. I couldn’t find anything in books, Help files, etc. about making a slide show to show on a CD. I do have a number of them though now that I can show on TV’s!!! I finally found this user forum and saw another posting by Barb O.

Lynne,
Please provide those of us unfamiliar with this process with the work flow (Step 1, step2, etc.) necessary to make a slide show.
Thank you in advance.

So glad someone posted about this. I was so proud of the first PSE slide show I produced for my son’s visit to my workplace last week and then couldn’t get the dern thing to burn to cd. Couldn’t find any help anywhere, either. Glad I found this thread. Thank you SO Much!

Ken, here’s the link for a tutorial right off the Adobe web site:

I used this tutorial, and it was so easy to follow.

Jim Jutte

I recommend that you make an FAQ pointing to the tutorial on the Adobe web site for the PSE 3 Custom Slideshow: it is not very easy to find. Here is the link

<http://www.adobe.com/tips/phsel3slideshow/main.html>

There is absolutely nothing in the Help of Elements 3 for the Custom Slideshow (at least nothing that I and others could find). So this tutorial appears to be the only documentation that Adobe has provided.

Also, there is a techdoc that is relevant to Custom Slideshows that are written to VCD.

Thank you very much.
Is Mr. Jutte an employee of the Adobe Company? If so, perhaps he can publish a dynamic "white paper" which will provide us with requisite cognitive updates that relate to the organizer. I view it as a product-in-progress.

Jim Jutte is the volunteer moderator of the Photoshop Elements forum; he is not an Adobe employee.

Well it is not a White Paper, but it is the closest thing to the content you requested that I can identify. Have you looked at the book "Organize Your Photos with Adobe Photshop Elements 3"? It is written by Michael Slater, who was an original designer of the software that evolved into the PSE 3 Organizer. See <http://www.photofanatic.com> for more info about the book and additional tips on using the Organizer.

Thanks Barbara,

For both comments. I’ll look into the FAQ, but it might have to wait until later this evening.

I kept it simple… let me know if you think anything should be added.

What if you add the statement

and there is also a techdoc about Custom Slideshows that are written in VCD format to CD disc

between the 2 links (so that it is prior to the link to the techdoc).

Thanks for making the FAQ; seems like I have answered that question 4 or 5 days out of the last 7.
