Does anyone know a source for a Simple release form for candid photography. I often take candid shots on the street, at flea markets, on the beach and at events. I am looking for a simple form so I can use these in photo shows and exhibits. I do not necessarily intend to sell the images. Model releases I have seen seem to be too complex. I would be willing to give the party a print in return for the use of the image.

I’m not entirely sure about the law in this case. I was a journalist, and we did not require a release for candid photography. The rule was that unless the picture was posed in some way, you did not need a model release. And if the picture was a posed one (the check passing ceremony, etc.) then there was an implied consent to the use of the image when they agreed to pose as requested.

I think the papers that do that "babe of the week" bikini shots get releases for those, but otherwise nothing was required.

Unfortunately, this might be an exemption for journalists, and not apply to amateurs.
