Photoshop Elements 4 fullscreen view not good

I updated from PSA 2 to PSE 4, and successfully imported my catalogue to it. It is a lot faster and has some features I missed, so I’d like to keep it.

However, I found that the full screen view (F11) is now oversharpening the pictures, or does not use a good algorithm to display the pictures. There are white artefacts and halos everywhere. It is not just a bit bad, it really makes the full screen view unusable for me. I am surprised noone else has the same problem.

This was not the case in Photoshop Album 2, nor is it the case in Picasa, Irfan View or any full screen software I use. Also the 50%/100% views in the Photoshop editor (4.0 or CS2) look better.

Can I adjust the algorithm to display full screen in Photoshop Elements? Did I miss something?
