Actually I like keeping all of my extras NOT in the application folder (although some of them do have to be there in order to use them, I realize that.) As long as I keep them in one place any upgrade is simple (ahem . . . as long as I can figure out how to make PhotoShop ask where they are! :-D) and I always know where they are. I can copy the folder to my laptop as well.
