How to disable Downloader

I have both PSE3 and 4. I have unchecked the "Use Adobe downloader…" but it still keeps popping up.
How do I kill the darn thing?

In Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 (Organizer) click on
Edit>Preferences>Camera or Card Reader and untick ‘Use Adboe Photo Downloader to get photos from Camera or Card Reader.’
Worked for me – hope it does for you.

I’m not certain about your question. Are you saying Adobe downloader is the default application for opening your graphic files?
