HOW REMOVE FOLDERS

PhotoShop Elements 3.0. In Photo Browser located in the Organizer, the directory showing "C" drive lists all photos I have ever had on that drive, even though they no longer exist. How do I delete these photos and the folders that show in the Orgainzer directory?
