After upgrading to ver.5 my Timeline shows pictures incorrectly, out of sequence, whether the sort order is Date (Oldest or Newest First). The thumbnails aren’t appearing in the order corresponding to the date shown under the thumbnails. The Metadata show the creation date as Modified Date, the Date Created is incorrect and does not even correspond to the picture’s position on the Timeline. It looks like that the Creation Date has been placed in Modified Date field and the Creation date shows some obscure date, probably the date I did some editing.
Order by Location displays correctly.
Would creating a new Catalog solve this? Would I lose all the Tags? What else could I try?
Thanks for advice.

For sure I recommend a backup and some test 🙂
I have only done this with a few files, but as I see it you can use File –> Write Tag and Properties Info to Photo, and let Elements organize your files again.
