Whenever I open Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 I get an error message box that says" "Cannot locate remote server. http:/// . . ." plus a lot of gibberish. I close the error message box and it goes away the program works OK.

1. What "remote server" is involved?
2. How do I get away from this error message?

Hi Gordon
I had the same problem with PS Elements 5.0 and could it solved as follows:

There is an Adobe program called "Adobe Active File Monitor" (file name "PhotoshopElementsFileAgent.exe") that gets installed as a service on Windows XP when you install Photoshop.

In Windows XP, go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services to bring up the list of programs installed as "Services" to see the startup entry. Then mark "Adobe Active File Monitor" and switch it to "manual". Do a reboot and start Photoshop Elements.

I hope this help
