I have just installed PE5 onto my D: drive, but it has also deposited a lot of files on C: which take up a lot of space.

Files such as:
Adobe Help Centre
Updater 5
How to recipes

I have changed the path in PE5 for the Updater, but cannot find any reference for changing the Help Centres path.

Any suggestions for redirecting the path and freeing up valuable space?

Cheers
Steve

I don’t have PE5, so can’t see where exactly these files might be, but it may be possible to use the PC Magazine utility COA2 to find any references to their paths in the registry and easily change them. http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,1153212,00.asp

If they are hard-coded to be found on the system drive, this probably won’t work. You may also be able to relocate your "Documents and Settings" folder: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/236621

Depending upon your operating system and version, you may be able to selectively compress folders to save space.

If you are that tight on file space you should be looking to replace your hard drive with a larger one. If you manage to fill it to 100% you won’t even be able to run it to get your files moved to a larger drive.
