I have several black and white JPEG images which will be printed by a commercial printery into our telephone directories. The printing process can’t handle gradational gray tones. In the old days, we would xerox the photos through a clear plastic screen covered with tiny white dots before printing. What is the equivalent process in Photoshop. My clear plastic sheet has long since been lost.

I would think that is the printers responsibility.
