The browser window options set the dimensions (and aspect ratio) of the outside of the browser window. The image area in the window ends up with a wider aspect ratio. This results in an initial (fully zoomed-out) image that is narrower than the browser window (white at the sides only). This can bee seen in the video tutorial at

Can the browser be set so that the image area has the same aspect ratio as the image?
