non-existing background prints

This is a setting somewhere and I can’t find it. When I print an eps or jpg(anything) from Photoshop 7.0 on the color printer it puts a background color. There is no background color, I checked. I have had this problem before but unfortunately I didn’t write down the solution. Can any one help.
