Photoshop CS3 file naming error. Does NOT add file extension automatically

I had this problem in cs2 after I installed pagemaker. I found the solution but that was about a year ago. Now I’m on a new computer and have installed cs3 fresh. It had something to do with a registry key. And no I didn’t need to reinstall. As soon as I can find the changed key I’ll let you know

OK I found it, should’ve looked harder at first.

I believe it does have something to do with TweakUI but all you have to do is run Registry Editor (regedit) and goto the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Policies\comdlg32\NoFileMru

change the value from 1 to 0.

That fixed it for me. You may need to restart your program if it was open
