CS4 Save As Dialog – Save Copy

When saving PNG files, the dialog window always adds the word "copy" to the file name, and requires manual editing out of the word. If I remove the checkmark from the copy box in the same window, the word still stays though, regardless. Is there a way to permanently turn off that feature? I don’t see anything in any of the preferences menus.
