Eyedropper Tool vs. AirBrush CS5

Gentlemen,
I would like to use the Eyedropper Tool with the Airbrush in a manner similar to the clone tool.
I saw a tutorial that did precisely that.
Airbrush then hit Alt to sample a color with the Eyedropper <for the foreground color if possible> – then let go of Alt to apply the new foreground with the Airbrush etc.

Is there a trick I’m missing or have a mental block about? Using CS5 on 7 64.

and so when you do that (sample then paint) what exactly is the problem?

I don’t have airbrush as a feature on CS3 – one could always mimic airbrush by altering the flow as well as opacity
