I would like to place a copyrights watermark on images. Is there a recommended way of doing this well? Than you.

Sure. And there are many ways of doing it.

I would recommend creating an action. This way, once you have created the initial steps for placing the copyright on an image, you can use the action as part of a batch process to apply the watermark to many images at once, rather than individually.

Check out digimark.com. It puts a hidden registration mark in an image, and comes as a Filter in PS.

Just in case the "obvious" way to do it is not clear to you:

Just create a text layer. Enter your copyright notice. Adjust the colour and opacity to make it visible, but not too obtrusive, as you require.
