Does anyone here use CS4 products on Vista 64b – and if so, have you :

1) Noticed any tangible benefits
2) Run into any problems

I’ve been running CS4 on 64 biy Vista for about two months. I’d characterize my use as light, mainly for development. The largest image I’ve done is a 240 MB mosaic. Interestingly, this mosaic came out distorted in 32 bit Vista, so there are apparently bugs that affect 32 bit but not 64.

Large images, period. Otherwise, performance seems identical to the 32 bit version.

2) Run into any problems

Liquify does not preview correctly. Other than that, no problems. AMD Phenom quad CPU, NVidea 6300, 8GB RAM.

Though I’ve personally run into almost no problems, PS CS4 is a bad release. Adobe’s reaction, so far, has been a disappointing: round of finger pointing at the video manufacturers.

Give them some time and Adobe will get it right. Meantime, I’d recommend skipping CS4 if you have a choice. I upgraded, of course, to support customers.
