On which version of PSCS2 (9.0, 9.0.1, or 9.0.2) was this shortcut (ALT plus CNTRL plus +/-)for Resizing the Window when zooming introduced?
It was there back in PSCS(1) – possibly even earlier.
Thanks , Chris. Now, then, why would a user with ver 9.0 NOT have this even listed as an option (with or without a specific key combination assigned)under Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts ( > View would be the proper subfunction, since that’s where you find the related Zoom In/Out shortcut keys) when the user has never tried to change any of the assignments? And, of course, how would such user restore the feature he/she should never have been without in the first place if the feature had been introduced in PSCS?
The ALT key offers many an undocumented ALTernative keystroke function. 😉
Am I reduced to "Honk if you have this shortcut key"?
Others are reporting that ALT plus CNTRL plus +/- is performing the resize-while-zooming function even though NOT listed under Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts > View. It still doesn’t do anything for me.
The shortcut is nice because it can be invoked no matter what tool is active, as opposed to accomplishing the resizing by activating the zoom tool, enabling "Resize Windows to Fit" in the Zoom Tool Options bar, and invoking the zoom tool.
OK. Apparently this IS, as Chris indicates, an UNDOCUMENTED feature, since it doesn’t show under Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts even for the ONE guy I know for whom it works on his desktop with PSCS2 ver 9.0.1. Even for that guy, it does NOT work on his laptop (using PSCS).
I was hoping to generate a little data base here with a least a few responses indicating which configurations have or do not have the feature. Or just simply what must one do to get it?

many laptops have funny keyboards george. might need the Fn key pressed or something like num lock in the key combo? i know ps differentiates between many similar keys (enter vs return for example).
Got the inconsistencies resolved—at least on my machine but, I suspect, generally. Would appreciate confirmation from others of the following:
When the setting Preferences > General > Zoom Resizes Window is checked, the shortcut key combination CTRL +/- step-zooms and resizes the window to fit the image, while the combo ALT, CTRL +/- step-zooms only without changing window size. Unchecking that General Preference item REVERSES the roles of the shortcut key combinations so that, now, CTRL +/- zooms but does not resize and ALT,CTRL +/- zooms and resizes.
Further, that General Preferences item has no effect on the action of the zoom tool itself, which resizes when zooming only if the "Resize Window to Fit" box is checked on the zoom tool options bar. And the zoom tool options bar setting has no effect on the shortcut key actions.
Whew! Little wonder so much confusion!

Alt is short for Alternative
