dont really want to use another prog to
display it as i want both pics to be the same settings as near as.. i would like to have this option as i could then see the ‘difference ‘ as i enhance the photo

With PS CS2 you can have a image window outside the mail PS application window. Previous versions of PS might or might not have this functionality. But your video driver is probably able so define the second monitor simply as an enlargement of the first. So if you have an older PS version you can simply use that and set the main application window of PS to use both screens. That should enabling dragging any image window to any place within the main application window (which in this case is as large as both screens combined)

This depends on your operating system and hardware. You should try posting your question in the newsgroup that discusses your type of computer setup.

Just save the original as a different name and open it as a second image.

WindoZe and aPPle monitors use the same hardware. What he wants to do works on both.

The problem I think is that he has not expanded the work area to encompass both screens.

thanks for all the input i have extended my second moniter and can drag all the pallets to the 1st screen(ps7 set up on 2nd) this gives me a good size workspace to work on without being cluttered and enabling all pallets to be available as and when i need them. however i cannot drag a photo(copy) from the second monitor onto the 1st …looks like i may have to drag ps7 over both screens and see how that goes….or open a copy using windows preview on screen1 and use that as my original reference
