Type tool doesn't work in Photoshop CS2 & photoshop is generally buggy &
usually crashes when first opened, then I have to restart. Any ideas?
I'm running it on a Mac G4 ti powerbook with 1024mb of ram & Mac OSX

I am unable to access any fonts beyond "Times" in Photoshop (8.0x119).
The display is also weird, in that I have 4 or 5 'empty' lines below
"Times" without any font names.
I realize I DO have many fonts (managed by Suitcase 11.0.2) but I have
no problems with other programs with listing all activated fonts.
Any ideas?

I just upgraded to Tiger with a clean install, then reinstalled Adobe
CS. However, now I can't paste things in from Illustrator. I get the
following error message:
"Could not import the clipboard because the specified format is not in
the edition."
Who stepped in what? I am able to open the Illustrator files using
Photoshop's Open command, but that's a pain to save each item I want to
paste as its own file. I've upgraded what seem like any pertinent
updates from the Adobe website but still no luck. Any suggestions?

Situation:
Apple talk server - windows nt :(.
Graphical workstations - panther.
Problem:
In Login Items - network disks from nt - "Hide" option checked.
But, after first login (independent on auto login - always after
restart), all windows are opened. Also windows of apps in Login Items
(suitcase).
Question:
How set mounting nt server disks without windows opened?

Dear Friends: Greetings: I am a retired attorney. A few years ago a man

Collins & Aikman Products Corp.
Former CEO of the company David A. Stockman has quit his postion and given a tidy 20 Million Dollar going away present for his gallant efforts to ruin the company.
Shortly after his "retirement" the company is forced to file bankruptcy and now is on the verge of bringing the automotive industry to a grinding halt !!
Collins & Aikman owes millions of Dollars to small suppliers who can scarcely operate in this political environment and now the automotive supplier giant is taking them to the cleaners in bankruptcy !!
Previous CEO Jerry Mosingo was similarly retired several years ago and was promised payments on his retirement...... when these NEVER came he also filed suit against the corporate giant.
We here in the UAW would like to ask our fellow workers to petition their congressman for an investigation into Stockmans Financial affairs and those of His wife Jennifer, who is the Nation Co-Chairman for the republican Majority for Choice. and also a BlackStone Partner, former owners of Collins & Aikman !!
Stockman lives on an 11 Million Dollar estate on Conyers Farm Road in Greenwich Connecticut.
We in the UAW believe that Stockman has falsely represented his company and has dishonored his alliance with the UAW and should be made to forfit any bonus earnings while CEO.

hello, and thanks for reading.
i type some text and want to put a border around it. when i do
it either by modify/expand or by stroking it, it rounds the sharper
corners of the text. i want an exact outline to the original text at
any thickness. anyone have any ideas here. please email me with

Howdy.
I bought Photoshop Elements 2 in December of 2003.
In a moment of desperation in November, I purchased a support contract
from the pirates at Adobe for $160. (ouch).
I've used it for one conflict, resolved in one day.
I upgraded recently to the "free" (ahem) OSX upgrade (10.3.9),
automatically offered for security reasons or whatever.
And now, Elements will no longer open in OSX. It freezes during the
opening, with that progress bar stopping in mid whirl.
I use my expensive support conflict to call & found out that "Elements
is no longer supported" under this version of OSX .
WTF?
My 1999 version still works in OS 9 emulation, and this version I bought
17 months ago is obsolete?
And companies wonder why people plunder software?
Any ideas on how to reconcile this?

Hi guys,
I'm stumped on how to make smart objects work for me in PS.
Here's the deal:
I'm working for a toy company and it seems like a great thing to make
various images of products smart objects so I can use them in catalogues,
brochures, packaging, etc. and be able to scale them non-destructively and
change the master anytime I want and thus change all the dependent files.
What is confusing me is how to create an intelligent workflow.
I have my original TIFF I'll call toy.tiff.
I then have created a toy.psd with the background around the item deleted
and several adjustment layers added.
I'd like to make this a smart object and use it in package.psd. Sooo, I
select all the layers of toy.psd and select LAYER > SMART OBJECT > GROUP
INTO NEW SMART OBJECT. I get the appropriate demarcation in my layers
palette.
I then drag this (what I think is a smart object) into package.psd but if I
make changes to toy.psd after I drag it into package.psd no changes are
updated on package.psd. So I doubleclick on the smart object layer on
package.psd and a new file opens... A .psb file. So I'm assuming this has
become the ACTUAL Smart Object. But what's not clear is how/where it's
stored (they seem to live in some temporary items folder), how to best
access them assuming they are informing several documents, what a smart
workflow is, how the files are named and integrated with Version Cue.
Is it me or is this insanely confusing?
I've looked for info online but most all information about smart objects
refers to importing Illustrator files which I'm not concerned with at this
time.
I'm ready to bag the whole idea of using Smart Object in PS unless someone
can help bring some clarity to the whole process.

Since yesterday, after installing a driver for a scanner, I have not been
able to create a new document in Photoshop.
I figured I would uninstall the scanner driver, and this would remedy my
problem. However, even without the driver installed, I cannot create a new
document inside p¹shop. When I try, I get this error:
<b>³Could not create new document because of program error.²</b>
I have removed my preferences inside my library, and have restarted p¹shop,
then try to create new document, and I get the same error.
So I uninstalled Photoshop, and did a fresh install. That also does not
help.
Has this happened to anyone else before, and if so, how did you fix it?
Here are the other pertinent details to my problem or solution (hope hope):
I am running Photoshop 7.0 MacOSX.3.9, and 1 GB of RAM.

it out with the U.S. Post Office (1-800-725-2161) and they confirmed that it
is indeed legal! Then I invested the measly $6.00. Well GUESS WHAT!!...
Within 7' days, I started
getting money in the mail! I was shocked! I figured it would end soon, but
the money just kept coming in. In my fIrst week, I made about $25.00. By the
end of the second week I had made a total of over $1,OOO.OO! In the third
week I had over $10,000.00 and it's still growing. This is now my fourth
week and I have made a total of just over $42,000.00 and it's still coming
in rapidly. It's
certainly worth $6.00, and 6 stamps, I have spent more than that
on the lottery!!
Let me tell you how this works and most importantly, why it
works also, make sure you print a copy of this

RAPIDO!!!. Probé todos esos esquemas de hacerte rico rápido durante 12
meses y fui engañado muchas veces por personas que quieren hacer
dinero rápido probando cualquier cosa. Pero bueno, son cosas de esa
edad, y esa frase diciendo que podría ser rico rápido me sonaba
irresistible!. Tal vez son buenos esquemas para algunos, pero seguro
no lo fue para mí.
Estaba en Internet, chequeando el NEWSGROUP cuando ví un artículo que
decía de CONSEGUIR DINERO RÁPIDO!!. Pensé... "¿EN EL INTERNET?. Bueno,
tengo que ver que tipo de esquema pueden presentar en el Internet".
Este artículo describía la manera de mandar POR CORREO UN BILLETE DE
UN DOLAR A SOLO SEIS PERSONAS Y GANAR US$ 20.000 EN EFECTIVO EN 4
SEMANAS!!!. Bueno, cuanto mas pensaba acerca de esto más curioso me
ponía, ¿por que?, porque de la manera que esto trabajaba y PORQUE SOLO
IBA A COSTARME 6 DOLARES : (Y SEIS ESTAMPILLAS), Y ESO ERA TODO LO QUE
TENIA QUE PAGAR... Y NADA MÁS!!!.
Como decían las instrucciones en el artículo, envíe por correo un
billete de un dólar a cada una de las seis personas en la lista que
contenía el artículo. Incluí una pequeña nota que decía "PLEASE ADD MY
NAME TO YOUR MAILING LIST; POR FAVOR INCLUYA MI NOMBRE EN SU LISTA"
(español e inglés) junto con el dólar. Luego rehice la lista en donde
saque al primero, moví una posición arriba a cada uno de los restantes
e incluí mi nombre al final de ella. Esta fue la forma de lograr que
el dinero comenzara a llegarme!!
Luego tome esta lista que acababa de modificar y la PUBLIQUÉ EN TODOS
LOS QUE CONOCIA tanto En Internet como en mi localidad, informándole a
mis amigos sobre este nuevo sistema y espere que el dinero empezara a
llegarme, preparado para recibir entre US$1.000 y US$1.500 en
efectivo. Pero que agradable sorpresa cuando todos esos sobres
empezaron a llegarme!!!. Supe enseguida de que se trataban cuando ví
que las direcciones de retorno provenían de todas partes del mundo, la
mayoría de Estado Unidos, Canadá y Australia!. Te cuento, FUE
EXCITANTE!!!.
¿Cuánto recibí en total?, US$1.000? US$5.000? NOOO!!!. Recibí un total
de US$23.343!! No lo podía creer!!! Hoy tengo una nueva vida gracias a
esto! y después de casi 8 meses, estoy dispuesto a hacerlo de nuevo!!
Tal vez era posible lograr US$50.000 en efectivo, no lo sé, pero
¡DEPENDE COMPLETAMENTE DE TI, DEL INDIVIDUO!. Tienes que seguirlo y

O.K. lee esto cuidadosamente. No es que sea necesario, pero es una
buena idea de imprimirlo como referencia en el caso de que tengas

INSTRUCCIONES
PASO 1. En una pagina en blanco escribe lo siguiente: "PLEASE ADD MY
NAME TO YOUR LIST" - "POR FAVOR INCLUYA MI NOMBRE EN SU LISTA" (inglés
y español). Esto automáticamente genera un servicio y como tal, lo
hace COMPLETAMENTE LEGAL. A partir de ahora no estas mandándole UN
DOLAR a alguna persona sin ningún motivo, estas do UN DOLAR por
un legítimo servicio. Asegúrate de incluir tu nombre, dirección. Te
aseguro, de nuevo, que esto es completamente legal!. Como un lindo
detalle pon también en que posición cada nombre figuraba cuando
enviaste tu dólar: ("Estabas en la posición 3") o ("You were in slot
3") como para hacerlo más completo!!!.
PASO 2. Ahora dobla esta página escrita (mejor si es una página doble
con papel carbón ó papel grafitado internamente) alrededor del billete
de UN DOLAR (no mandes cheques ni otro tipo de pago, SOLO BILLETES DE
UN DOLAR AMERICANO), ponlo todo dentro de un sobre y envíalo a cada
una de las 6 personas listadas. LA IDEA DE DOBLAR EL PAPEL ALREDEDOR
DEL BILLETE ES PARA ASEGURAR QUE VA A LLEGAR A SU DESTINO Y ESTO ES

ser numero 1, el a 3 pasa a ser 2, el a 4 pasa a ser 3, el
a 5 pasa a ser 4, el a 6 pasa a ser 5 y TU eres ahora el
numero 6. Incluye tu nombre, dirección, código postal y país.
PASO 4. Ahora publica este artículo tanto como puedas (después de
haber enviado los 6 correos a la Lista de Nombre que aparece al Final
del Documento), es decir sácale copia a éste documento con tus datos
colocados en la Posición Nº 6 de la Lista. Hay mucho lugares donde

hay demasiados programas distintos y al detallar uno o dos de ellos,
podría crearle problemas al que tiene otro distinto. La descripción
del artículo cuando se lo publique debería decir algo así como: "BAJE
ESTE ARCHIVO Y LEA COMO PUEDE RECIBIR DINERO POR CORREO". No así:

out that it follows
the same regulations as the mailed chain letters, which according to
the U.S. Post Office
(1-800-725-2161) is indeed legal! Then I invested the measly $6.00.
Well GUESS WHAT!!?.
Within 7 days, I started getting money in my PayPal account! I was
shocked and excited! I
figured it would end soon, but the money just kept coming in. In my
first week, I made about
$25.00.
By the end second week I had made a total over $1,100.00! In the third
week I had over
$9,000.00 and it's still growing. This is now my fourth week and I
have made a total of just
over $22,000.00 and it's still coming in rapidly. Its : Certainly
worth $6.00., I have spent
more than that on the lottery!! : Let me tell you how this works and
most importantly, why
it works? Also, make sure you print a copy of this article NOW, so you

Hi Group!
I´m running PS CS under MacOSX 10.8.3 on a G5.
With the fontbook i have installed all may fonts.
All the programms see them - only Photoshop not!!!
Photoshops listed the fonts to the point, where the fontnames begins
with an _O_ - but not all with O.
The other ones, after O don´t appear!
Any ideas

Hello all:
I am using Photoshop 7.0 with Windows and Photoshop CS for Macintosh to
develop graphics for a client's web site. My graphics all have black
backgrounds and are saved in JPEG format. With the actual site set up, I
have the overall body background set as black (#000000) and with the JPEG
image on the page I notice that there is a VERY THIN halo-ish border around
the graphic. Why is that there and is there a way to get rid of this
border? It's sort of annoying.

I created a custom paper size, but although it shows up (grayed-out) in the
Print Setup's Paper Size menu, I can't select it. I've tried in several
applications, but no joy.
What steps am I missing when creating a custom paper size?

Hi Mike, see if the following steps solve your problem.

discarded embedded profile or (b) converted the profile.
I think you may need to open the profile you set up with the Spyder
software and assign it to default in Photoshop. Then you need to open
the TIFF files and "convert" the profile to the working space, or
default that you set.
> When I print these images I get dark, blue (but not a full blown
color cast) and varying degrees of posterization.
You may need to rescan the originals, that may or may not be an option.
If so, see if you can select that profile you selected with photoshop
in the scanner software as well. This will keep consistency throughout
your color workflow.

I'm running photoshop on a PC and received the same message( problem
with aquistion module interface) when trying to import from my Epson
CX6400 . . .this, out of nowhere, after running perfectly for several
months. After reinstalling drivers and Photoshop as well the problem
didn't go away. Epson sent me a procedure for going into res edit and
making changes. I haven't tried that as yet.

Hello,
A while back, I was browsing these newsgroups, just like you are now, and
came across an article similar to this that said you could make thousands of
CASH within weeks with only an initial investment of $6.00 (American) plus
International stamps due to users that may be outside the United States! So
I thought, "Yeah, right, this must be a scam!" But like most of us I was
curious and kept reading. It said that if you send $1.00 to each of the 6
names and addresses listed in the article, you could make thousands in a
very short period of time. You then place your own name and address at the
bottom of the list at #6, and post the article to at least 300 newsgroups.
(There are about 32,000 of them out there and that's quite a large market
pool). No catch, that was it. Even though the investment was a measly $6, I
had three questions that needed to be answered before I could get involved
in this sort of thing.
1. IS THIS REALLY LEGAL? I called a lawyer first. The lawyer was a little
skeptical that I would actually make any CASH but he said it WAS LEGAL if I
wanted to try it. I told him it sounded a lot like a chain letter but the
details of the system (SEE BELOW) actually made it a legitimate legal
business.
2. IS IT OK WITH THE POST OFFICE OR IS IT MAIL FRAUD? I called them:
1-800-725-2161 and they confirmed THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LEGAL! (See 18,
sections 1302 NS 1341 of Postal Lottery Laws). This clarifies the program of
collecting names and addresses for a mailing list.
3. IS IT RIGHT? Well, everyone who sends me a buck has a good chance of
getting A LOT of CASH ... a much better chance than buying a lottery
ticket!!! So, having these questions answered, I invested EXACTLY $8.22 ...
six $1.00 bills and six 37-cent postage stamps ... and boy am I glad I
did!!! Within 7 days, I started getting CASH in the mail! I was shocked! I
figured it would end soon and didn't give it another thought. But the CASH

A while back, I was browsing these newsgroups, just like you are now, and
came across an article similar to this that said you could make thousands of
CASH within weeks with only an initial investment of $6.00 (American) plus
International stamps due to users that may be outside the United States! So
I thought, "Yeah, right, this must be a scam!" But like most of us I was
curious and kept reading. It said that if you send $1.00 to each of the 6
names and addresses listed in the article, you could make thousands in a
very short period of time. You then place your own name and address at the
bottom of the list at #6, and post the article to at least 300 newsgroups.
(There are about 32,000 of them out there and that's quite a large market
pool). No catch, that was it. Even though the investment was a measly $6, I
had three questions that needed to be answered before I could get involved
in this sort of thing.
1. IS THIS REALLY LEGAL? I called a lawyer first. The lawyer was a little
skeptical that I would actually make any CASH but he said it WAS LEGAL if I
wanted to try it. I told him it sounded a lot like a chain letter but the
details of the system (SEE BELOW) actually made it a legitimate legal
business.
2. IS IT OK WITH THE POST OFFICE OR IS IT MAIL FRAUD? I called them:
1-800-725-2161 and they confirmed THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LEGAL! (See 18,
sections 1302 NS 1341 of Postal Lottery Laws). This clarifies the program of
collecting names and addresses for a mailing list.
3. IS IT RIGHT? Well, everyone who sends me a buck has a good chance of
getting A LOT of CASH ... a much better chance than buying a lottery
ticket!!! So, having these questions answered, I invested EXACTLY $8.22 ...
six $1.00 bills and six 37-cent postage stamps ... and boy am I glad I
did!!! Within 7 days, I started getting CASH in the mail! I was shocked! I
figured it would end soon and didn't give it another thought. But the CASH
continued coming in. In my first week I made between $20 to $30. By the end
of the second week I had made a total of $1,000.00. In the third week I had
over $10,000.00 and it was still growing. This is now my fourth week and I
have made a total of just over $42,000 and it's still coming in..... It's
certainly worth $6.00 and 6 stamps!!!

newsgroups. (I think there are close to 32,000 groups) All you need is 300,
