Anybody know of a program/plugin that will go through a PDF and automatically rasterize the vector art in it, without messing with the text?

thanks!

Thanks for the reply hot_denim…you bet we do! We want to optimize them for the web, and some of the vector art in print-ready PDFs is huge.

Tomy,

do you want to compress Press PDFs to Web PDFs ?

You may have a look at Quite a Box of Tricks by

This is the state of the art for shrinking PDFs, if the generating source program is not available.

But sorry – vector graphics are already stored by minimal file size. Only raster images can be compressed further.

Vector reprentation of images are usually better as they can be zoomed in without pixlisation. And take up less space… (most times).

Are you sure yours would benefit from rasterisation

Post a link to a prime example of a PDF that you think would benefit from rasteristaion.. and ill tell you if it will/won’t (most probably).
