You may be able to still download
the free "one user" version of Extensis Portfolio.

It has some limitations,
but is much more than the casual user will ever need.

Check out Archive Creator (AC) at
http://www.pictureflow.com/ArchiveCreator/Pages/AC-Main.html Not free but does what you’re wanting it to do. Also now supports dvd as well as cd. Any cd from your archive set can be used to track any image on any of the cds in the set, you don’t need to have the specific one in the drive. Not only that but AC does all the "thinking" work for you in allocating images to cds for best use of disc space, creates thumbnails and an html index and then burns for you too, no other burning software needed. It’ll also create archives of non-image type files too. Stops short of waking you up in the morning with a cup of tea though.

Thumbs Plus isn’t free, but it will be worth the price with your volume of usage.

I used AC for a while and although the support staff are quick to answer my problems…
They don’t have all the answers. It is still a pretty basic affair. I have stopped using it in favour of thumbs up. Mainly because if you don’t like frames and the AC logo, you have to rebuild the HTML it creates by hand. I’d only rate this application 3 out of 10. There are certainly much better programs around.

WStoreyll,

If you want to put your 3 Gigs of CD images online, we’ll index them and create a dynamic table of thumbnails so that you or any of your customers can access them. You could save quite a bit of money if you convert them to a DVD before sending them to us. Here’s the description of our service:

http://www.idigmedia.com/id1462 – iDigMedia serves or sells your high resolution digital pictures, video files, EPS image files, and electronic graphic files from your CDs or DVDs, via a portal on your website. With iDigMedia, your customers can browse your files and selectively download individual files, or manage their downloads using a shopping cart.
