recently I accidentally zoomed an image 1600X and liked the pixilated look, but could not add text and i assume other images without these added elements zoomed also… so how can i save a zoomed image as a viable image?

What happens when you resize to the over-sized dimensions an not use resampling?
Or….
Notice, there is also a "pixelate" sub-menu in the "Filter" options. If you are simply wanting the pixelated effect.

blurring, not "pixelation" so not what I’m looking for

yes, thanks, filter/pixilate/MOSAIC approaches the look I want…

how do you get a screenshot? I thought it was a "F" button action but apparently not on XP

try adding unsharp mask (~ 200%, R ~= 5, T ~= 15) after pixilate->mozaic ( size = ~5). it brings out the effect.

Use the "print screen" key.. this will copy the display to the clipboard. Then open a canvas, either new or existing, and use contl-V or edit/paste. However, you will only have whatever info is displayed on the monitor at the time you captured it and no info you have to scroll to reveal will be in the paste.
