I need some suggestions to do this job. I have a scanned map of a town with all the various streets, hwy’s, and neighboorhoods etc. I use PS7.0.

I want to trace out numerous sections of the town according to streets in different colors to isolate them one from the other.
I would like to change the colors and the trace lines if the sectios later need to be expanded or contracted.

But using the mouse to traces along streets with the pencil tool looks too sloppy and inaccurate.

I’m thinking graphics tablet.
Would that do he trick?
TIA.

Try using the pen tool – I think it will do exactly what you need. —

Yes, Pen tool. But you might do better using Illustrator or Freehand for this kind of job.
