When setting the Windows explorer view tot thumbnails, there are no thumbnails generated for PSD-files.

I know it’s possible to add this function but can’t remember or find how to do.

It must be possible because before it was OK (before format of my drive).

Can someone help me please?

Thanks in advance.

If you have installed PSCS, you are apparently out of luck. This is no longer supported.

Oh yes … it works fine 😉
I found the solution …

Three simple things to do …

1) Photoshop CS => Edit => Preferences => File Handling => Maximize PSD File Compatibility => Always (this will generate the composite image for layered Photoshop files)

2) Copy psicon.dll from a previous version of Photoshop to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Shell

3) Create a reg-file and import this into the registry and reboot

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio n\SharedDLLs] "C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\Adobe\\Shell\\psicon.dll"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.psd\ShellEx]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.psd\ShellEx\{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C 04FC2D6C1}] @="{0B6DC6EE-C4FD-11d1-819A-00C04FB69B4D}"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{0B6DC6EE-C4FD-11d1-819A-00C04FB69B 4D}] @="Photoshop Icon Handler"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{0B6DC6EE-C4FD-11d1-819A-00C04FB69B 4D}\InProcServer 32]
@="C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\Adobe\\Shell\\psicon.dll" "ThreadingModel"="Apartment"
