I have been happily using ACDSee for 12 months but for some unexplained reason it has began malfunctioning in several ways. Having uninstalled and reinstalled it, the problem still persists. Lost as to why this is happening, but remembering hearing that others where having similar problems. I’m now looking for an alternative album creating software. I have tried Photoshop Album 1, but miss the explorer window that’s in ACDSee. Can anyone recommend an alternative please, that has a similar format to ACDSee?

Regards
Alan

If you want an image database, then Thumbsplus. If you just want a viewer/album, then JASC PhotoAlbum.

Delete the database files periodically (this will remove any annotation you might have done!)

Alan asked me to clarify off-list.

I’ve got ACDSee 4.0 & my database file is currently 130 MB so it’s about time to delete. Storing all these thumbnails causes ACD to show the wrong thumbnail preview & omit thumbs. There are two files located here in win2k:
C:\Documents and Settings\paul\Application Data\ACD Systems\ACDSee I just delete them both.

Any titles or descriptions will be deleted also!

Paul

Just counted the size of my image database and it is 656.3 mb’s in total, so I guess that could be my problem.

Thanks again.
