I need some advice on ways to convert regular photographs into images that look more like comic book line&color art.

I succeeded once, ( < http://www.karavshin.org/special/comic/self-auto-comic-art.j pg> ) using some forgotten combination of posterization and some line filters, etc. but I’ve not been able to repeat it.

I am looking for some help figuring out the proper approach, and application of photoshop to achieve this.

Another example of (I suppose) a photograph turned into stylized graphics for this cheesy porno ad from the 1970’s < http://www.karavshin.org/special/comic/come-one-come-all.jpg>

Another example of the sort of output I am looking for is the (drawn from scratch? or originated as a photo?) title page of the old TV program, "The Wild Wild West" <http://www.karavshin.org/special/comic/www-title.gif>

Looking forward to your ideas, or suggestions of other online forums which might be useful.

Hey, well just so you know im new here, but one thing i think does a good job even by itself in photoshop to make a sort of comic like image very quick and easy is the Cutout filter ( found under filters>artistic>cutout). Just sort of play with that. Otherwise i havent done much along those lines but thats a start for you.

I use:
Filter>>Brush Strokes>>Ink Outlines
or
Filder>>Brush Strokes>>Accented Edges

to achive the look that you have in that first one you posted.

Sometimes I use just one, sometimes both. Then I play with blending modes.
