I would like to get NeatImage and Photokit Sharpener (both plug-ins) for their individual merits – but I’m a little unsure of the order of operations – what is the workflow?
‘Sharpener’ recommend applying it’s Capture Sharpening to a 16bit file before any editing is done . When do you apply NeatImage noise reduction ?

At this point I’m scanning film (Polaroid 120 and SF Ai)

I’d do the nosie filtering first. Don’t use sharpening (your other program is probably better at it) in the options for it and make sure you save it to a 16-bit file to suit Capture Sharpening. If you sharpen before filtering, it will tend to make the noise more obvious.
