Sharper for what? Print or Web? Two different animals.

Also, you should ALWAYS do logos in Illustrator, then port them to Photoshop. That way you have the best of both worlds and can make logos of any size for any purpose.

I don’t know what you mean by making them sharper. What part does not look sharp to you? The outer edges? The details of the images themselves? The lettering?

Please specify with more detail in what you are trying to achieve.

You do realize, of course, that by designing a logo using a bitmap image (photo) that you will need to re-screen the image at new line screen specs, at every different size that the image is used, and for every different mechanical requirement for each media that you intend to run the logo in. A logo like this will need absolute attention to color matching over the various processes that try to duplicate your original specs. I only add this as information to help you avoid painting yourself into a corner when it comes time to see your logo look consistent in actual use in the various media that may carry it.

Do you realize that PS is not the best tool for creating logos? Because it is a raster-based program, you will have to recreate this logo (pretty much) for every size you need it in. Had you created it in something like illustrator (and there doesn’t seem to be anything in there that AI could not do) then you could freely scale it to different sizes without loss of quality.
