There is no zoom tool in the liquify tool palette. This makes it very difficult (almost impossible) to use the tool effectively on a small selection. I suppose one could upsample the image dramatically, use liquify, and then downsample back. But this is very clumsy and I’m sure would result in image degredation. Am I overlooking some obvious solution, technique, or work-around? Thanks. Selwyn

CTRL+ works to enlarge and you can adjust your brush size separately. John

Like John said, Ctrl+ and Ctrl- will zoom in and out, or you can also hold down Ctrl/Spacebar and Ctrl/Alt/Spacebar to change to the + and – Magnifying Glass tools.

Selwyn, I have a zoom tool in liquefy toolbox in PS7. It is down near the bottom next to the hand tool. By the way, I can’t enlarge with Ctrl + while in liquefy, Steve. Nor can I use Ctrl Alt + as I usually do.

Which version of Photoshop are you guys using? I am using 6.01 and there is no magnifying glass tool in the LIQUIFY PALETTE?

However, the problem seems to have resolved itself after a restart, as small selections in the original image are now showing up large enough to work with in the Liquify screen. I don’t know what the problem was, but selections had been showing up very small in the liquify screen, which is why I asked the question.

Thanks

If you select the area you would like to work on with the marquee tool before you go into liqufy only the portion you want to work on will appear in the liqufy screen. (I’m in 7)

Thanks Julie. Here’s what I did wrong: I copied a small selection into a new layer. Then I opened the new layer in liquify without first re-selecting with the marquee tool. As a result, the selection appeared small.
