I recently upgraded from photoshop 5 to photoshop cs and from freehand 8 to studio mx. Now, I can’t drag and drop or copy and paste from freehand into photoshop. Photoshop won’t accept it and then it crashes. Need a workaround.

Bounce it via another app?

Try Word, PowerPoint even Paint

Paste from one app into the other then copy from the other into PSCS?

Maybe even use Save As in other app ? (by other app I mean a 3rd program)

Need a workaround.

Need more information. People can’t help you if you don’t say what kind of computer you are using, what operating system you have, you know, that kind of stuff.

It might possibly work … but I would caution *against* using any of the Micro$oft "Office" applications.

They have been known to do some very funny things to otherwise perfectly good graphics files.

I vaguely recall this was a preferences issue. Open Preferences/Export and see if Convert colors is set to Photoshop 4/5. I think other settings cause problems such as you describe.

I should have said that the Preferences are in Freehand.

Point taken RSD99

But in desperation any trick will do

I suppose even the Star Office Paint/Art application may help the OP
