I’m needing a program that will catalog the images I have burned to CD’s. What’s a good program for less than 100 CD’s? Looking for something lite if possible.

Hi jjs

I may be wrong (correct me if I am) but Picasa wonderful as it is – does not display EXIF IPTC not cater for images stored on CD

great browser in every other respect

I just tried Picasa on my home PC and it is problematic. First, it has a problem cataloging just specific folders on another device; it ignores the selection and tries to index the whole disc. That’s a real no-no when you have over 5,000 files and many are over 1gb in size. And there’s some interface confusions, for example selecting ‘device’ can’t find USB (removables). But you can drag the device’s icon on Picasa, but … nah… it is not ready for Prime Time.

I’m trying ThumbsPlus this evening.

Fotostation is the best I’ve found.

Not free, but very useful. Excellent cataloging and search capabilities. Works cross media and cross platform.

You can try Kalimages which is designed to search digital images using IPTC/IIM standard. Basic version is free.

I find ThumbsPlus is excellent. It supports off-line disks very well.

I wouldn’t call it "lite" myself, though; it’s one of the major players in the photo collection indexing field. But if the price is right and the minimum features are available, you can always ignore any extra features you don’t need :-).

(Standard version license is $50, pro version is $90, and the standard version does all the stuff I remember the OP asking about.) —

I like iView. Actually I LOVE iView. You can catalogue a whole disc or just a folder.

Maybe you could try MCataloguer. A good cd cataloging tool I used so far. $35 is acceptable for me.
