I’m not sure what I am doing wrong. I have referred to many of the threads that I have saved from Tony guiding people through the process and I have used the manual and the help section to try to solve my problem.

I am attempting to create an action that will resize many jpeg photos taken from a digital camera.

This is what I am doing.

1. Open jpeg file.

2. Create a new action from the palette menu and name

3. I skip the step of assigning a short cut key, because I don’t want to complicate my learning experience.

4. Then I go to the red "record button" on the bottom of the palette and I receive the "no can do message" symbol of the white circle with a diagonal line.

I’ve not found any reference to this problem. I can’t imagine what I could have screwed up so early in the process!

Any ideas?

once you name it and click the record button in the dialog, you don’t need to click the button on the action palette. you’re already recording. just start doing your thing. press the black stop button on the palette when done.

Thanks a bunch Dave. I knew instinctively it had to be something simple, but I had spent enough time on the problem to feel comfortable calling out for help.

I just successfully converted about fifteen photos in a blink of an eye.

I’m a happy photoshop camper!

Gracias mi amigo!
