I just generated a web site from CS and each photo page as a text box someone looking at the photo can write comments into, and save them. It also has check boxes for "approved" and "other".

What server-side stuff do I need to make use of this ?

A database (to record the information) and a CGI application or script (to get stuf from the Web page, put stuff into the Web page, and communicate with the database).

If you don’t even know what’s involved in making it work, i suspect doing what you want is going to be much more challenging than you realize. Most likely, you’re going to have to do some custom programming–do you know PHP or Perl?

I know it’s server-side application code. I’m asking of Adobe has a package, or some open source code to implememt the back end. Maybe I could have been a little clearer.

No host support is needed for CS Web Photo Gallery because the feedback is email based. The user will need to have email configured on the system they are using to view the gallery.

Each user may save up a batch of comments for individual images, review, and then email them to a previously specified email address. —

It’s hard to tell without seeing the coding. It may not need any database if it’s using a flatfile.
In Photoshop 5, the web image gallery that is set up using File>Automate requires no server side programs. It’s in html and uses frames. If it does need server side stuff, there should be detailed instructions in Photoshop/ImageReady or commented into the coding itself on how to install it, since you’d need to set administrative passwords, create the database, know the paths, etc.
For what you’re doing — which is basically a photo gallery — I wouldn’t use Photoshop but would use one of the gallery programs that’s already been written and that uses PHP/Mysql.
Most hosting companies these days include a gallery like that in the hosting package. You just do a couple of clicks to install it. If you have Fantastico, that includes several different galleries.
There are more than 300 php photo gallery scripts here:
