Perhaps this has been covered in an online review somewhere or Adobe’s new feature documentation on PS CS, but I don’t recall. Given the new capability to redefine the Keyboard Shortcuts, I’m curious if the menus always reflect the default shortcut assignments for a particular command, or are the menus dynamically updated to reflect modified shortcuts? I don’t know if the latter is either practical or possible, so I’d expect that only default shortcuts are shown.

Thanks,

Daryl

Daryl,

I can’t tell you about PS but when I modified the shortcut keys in ID the changes were reflected in the menus. I would suspect that the same would hold true in the new versions.

Thanks Bob….maybe dynamically updated menus isn’t as tricky as I’d have guessed.

OK, mind you this is with the press beta. There are no included shortcut files for older versions of Photoshop. This maybe something that is included in the final retail product, but not in the press beta.

As for changed shortcuts showing in the menus, yes they do show in the menus.

The menus always reflect the CURRENT shortcuts — ie: the ones you customized.

That makes a LOT of sense Chris and is certainly less confusing than having the menus show default shortcuts when they no longer apply.
