I have hundreds of postings showing!!

If you are using Outlook Express,
Try Tools>Options>Read>News and adjust the number of headings (Mine is set for 300 – not sure why!)
Also try Tools>Options>Maintenance – there are more settings there! I am only assuming that this may have some bearing on your question.

One further point that may be of interest?
You may have noticed the posting on Stupid Americans on the 7/11/04, that type of hijacking of the Newsgroup is becoming more common and made me check my OE settings to find the solution, which is to highlight the thread and tick "Ignore Conversation" under "Message" on the tool bar!!

Mine is showing 25,629.

When I read this newsgroup, I mark everything in it as read even though I don’t read the majority of the postings. I don’t want to see the others next time. If I leave this newsgroup and then come right back, there will be zero postings. Next day, there might be from 30 to 100 new postings. Lynn
