You didn’t say what version of Photoshop or Acrobat.
Check your color preferences in both applications.
I am having the same problem. Photoshop 6.5. The color setup is set to 20% dot gain for grayscale (which is what the photo I’m working on now is) and spot; Adobe RGB (1998); CMYK-U.S. Web Coated (SWOP)v2;
Let me know if I am looking in the wrong place – I’m not real familiar with the program.
Thanks!
Correction – Photoshop 7.0 (was confusing it with Premiere)
Also, this only happens when I print from Photoshop or I save it as .pdf. If I save as .jpg or .tif and open it in another program, it prints fine.
Re-run Adobe Gamma and create a decent monitor profile.
I have a problem with adobe photoshop 7 when i select a color it appears to be correct until I use it then it is a completley diffrent color of that shade
I ran through the Gamma program for my problem (prints much darker than what is on the screen), but no change… what makes no sense is that the same file prints fine outside of Photoshop (i.e. Windows Picture & Fax Viewer). It looks the same on the screen in any program, just prints differently. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
The colour that comes out of the printer largely depends upon the options you select in the print d/box. When you choose Print Preview, what settings do you have under Colour Management, and what printer are you printing to?
In the print properties under ‘Image Color Management’ it has
IMC Method: ICM Handled by Host System
ICM Intent: Pictures
This is just on an HP Deskjet 960C – but I have the same problems on an HP Color Laserjet or HP Designjet (large printer) – on the Designjet I just have it set to ‘match screen’
Thanks for your help!
